Governor Hunter's records: Johannes was listed as having sailed from England in 1708.
Isaac Hunting's history 'Nine LittlePartners': Johannes Streibel from the Palatinate, Germany, came to Americain1708 and was apprenticed to pay his passage to a Mr. Couse of Milan, (anothersource says Mr. Morehouse) Duchess County, New York. He was the founderof the Streibel, Strevel and Strever family in America.
Settled in the Pine Plains area of Dutchess County, New York about 1710.
Said to have at least two sons, only Johannes Jr. are sure of lineage but the Booklet included five children in the family for lack of any other place to put them.
